A bouquet of roses, pepper-tinged herbs,
plums and saddle leather make the 2019 Rosso di
Montalcino impossible to ignore. It’s silky-smooth
and round in style, coating the palate in sensually
rich, dark red fruits, along with nuances of licorice,
as pretty violet florals form toward the close.
There’s a coating of fine tannins that linger yet
don’t get in the way, as the 2019 finishes long
yet fresh and with the slightest hint of mocha that
lingers. This punches well above its price point
while strutting its southern Montalcino style
